We are Sharon and Moisés, an Argentine-Brazilian couple. We fell in love with Ilha Grande and decided to make this paradise our home.
That’s how Ilha Grande Para Vos was born: from our wish to share our favorite spots and to be by your side for an unforgettable experience.
I’m Moisés, Brazilian and a sailor. I’ve been living on Ilha Grande and working in tourism for more than 10 years. I love sharing the island’s secrets with you and taking you to discover its most beautiful spots aboard our boat.

A paradise called Ilha Grande
Ilha Grande is the largest island in the state of Rio de Janeiro. It lies off Angra dos Reis, about 3 hours from the city of Rio de Janeiro.
Picture a place with no cars, surrounded by Atlantic rainforest, with over 100 beaches to discover, crystal-clear waters, trails, waterfalls and amazing tours.
A place where you can unplug and enjoy the calm of nature, but also discover its bars, restaurants and nightlife.
The main village is Vila do Abraão, where most boats arrive and where we recommend you stay, so you have everything close at hand.

What you need to know before your trip
Where should I stay on Ilha Grande?
We recommend staying in Vila do Abraão, the heart of the island. There you’ll find restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, a health clinic and the main pier, where the tours around the island depart from.
What happens if it rains on the day of my tour?
Don’t worry! Ilha Grande has a tropical climate, and a passing shower doesn’t mean the tour is canceled. It is only called off if conditions don’t allow safe navigation. In that case, we reschedule your experience or refund your deposit.
Can I take tours if I’m not staying in Vila do Abraão?
Of course! If you’re staying elsewhere on the island (Araçatiba, Aventureiro, Praia Vermelha or others) or on the mainland (Rio de Janeiro, Angra dos Reis, Conceição de Jacareí, Mangaratiba or others), we have options for you too. The available tours depend on where you leave from, but we can always help you find the best alternative.
Can I take the tours with children or older adults, or if I’m pregnant?
We have options for different ages: some tours are calmer, while others require more mobility or involve a rougher ride. If you’re pregnant, we recommend checking with your doctor before booking. Tell us who’s traveling and we’ll help you find the best option.
When is the best time to visit Ilha Grande?
Ilha Grande is great all year round. From December to March it’s busier, hotter and the water is warmer. From April to November, on the other hand, you’ll find more peace and quiet and lower prices, and you can still enjoy the beach. Winter temperatures are usually pleasant, but we recommend bringing a light jacket for the evenings.
Is Angra dos Reis the same as Ilha Grande?
No, they are different places. Angra dos Reis is a city on the mainland, while Ilha Grande is an island that belongs to the municipality of Angra dos Reis. If you stay in Angra, you’ll need to take a boat to reach the island. That’s why we always recommend staying in Vila do Abraão (the heart of Ilha Grande).
What services are there on Ilha Grande?
In Vila do Abraão you’ll find the island’s main pier, grocery stores, pharmacies, 24-hour public medical care, police and firefighters. There are also restaurants, bars, clothing and souvenir shops, and plenty of nightlife. Everything you need for a comfortable, relaxed stay.
Do I need a yellow fever vaccine?
The vaccine is not required to enter Brazil, but it is recommended as a precaution. If you have any questions, check with your doctor before traveling.
